Altenburg Residential Palace

Altenburg Castle is an impressive building that reflects the history of the Dukes of Saxe-Altenburg. The 17th and 18th century Ducal Apartments provide an insight into the lavish life at court, while the 19th and 20th century exhibition areas show how lifestyles have changed over time.

Particularly worth seeing is the playing card museum, which presents an extensive collection of historical playing cards.
